For a few years, timcoysh.co.uk just redirected to Coysh Digital. The site before that was a Craft CMS build from my freelance days, and it hadn’t changed since 2021.

I wanted somewhere to keep the things I build for myself, and to write the odd entry about them. So this version is deliberately small: a single page, a page for each project, and this journal. It’s static HTML, built with Astro and served from Cloudflare Pages. The words and projects are Markdown files in the repo.

What’s under the bonnet

  • Type. Atkinson Hyperlegible Next and Mono, from the Braille Institute. They were designed to be easy to read, which matters to me because accessibility is part of every site I build.
  • The dots and the photo. The field of dots behind the top of the page is adapted from Vanta.js’s DOTS effect, and it leans towards your cursor. Touch the photo of me, or run your cursor across it, and it ripples like water. For anyone who prefers reduced motion, there are no dots and it’s just a photo.
  • Activity. The heatmap is my GitHub contribution calendar, pulled in when the site builds.
  • Weight. Until the dots load, the home page runs under 5KB of JavaScript.
